About Us
About the practice
The Marlborough Medical Practice is a GP Surgery operating
within the National Health Service. We are commissioned by the
Wiltshire Primary Care Trust.
The practice is
one of the oldest in England. Its history can be traced back to 1769, when
Dr Pinckney started in practice in Marlborough. In 1792 he was
joined by Dr Thelwell Maurice, and by October 1795 Doctors Pinckney and Maurice were advertising in the Salisbury
and Winchester Journal for an Apprentice in their practice.
The practice was served by six generations of the Maurice family, until the
retirement of Dr David Maurice in September 2009.
The practice currently serves just under 12,000 patients living in Marlborough
and the surrounding villages.

Would you like to work in this practice – as a Receptionist, Dispenser, Secretary, Practice Nurse, Nurse Practitioner, Notes Summariser or Dental Nurse?
If so, we invite you to register your interest with us. We will then let you know when a suitable vacancy arises, and you will have an opportunity to apply. If there are sufficient applicants for a position from those who have previously expressed interest, we may not advertise further; and this will enable us to recruit more quickly to replace a member of staff who leaves.
If you would like to register your interest in working in the practice, please give to Reception (or fax to 01672-516809) a note with your name, telephone number, email address, and an indication of the roles for which you might be interested in applying. We will then confirm receipt by email.

Also, when there is a vacancy, there will be a "Job vacancy" button in the contents frame on the left. This will lead to a page containing more details, with a job description and a downloadable application form.
