Our appointment system is changing.

Unfortunately, this will mean that fewer appointments are available to book online initially, but it is anticipated that this will improve over the coming months. Please bear with us while we undertake this process, which we hope will ensure equitable access to appointments to all our patients.

Appointmentscalendar

Consultations are by appointment only and can be booked from 09:00 in person at reception, or by telephoning 01672 512187. Routine appointments with GPs can also be booked online through our website here (You will need to register by asking at reception for your unique registration/login details). Nurse appointments have to be made over the phone - this is because each member of our nursing team perform specific duties in specific clinics, so the most appropriate Nurse needs to be determined by our Receptionists.

Urgent cases are seen on the day. Please advise the receptionist if your need is urgent and give an indication of the problem. The triage nurse will telephone you to discuss your problem and decide upon the most appropriate course of action. You may be given a same day appointment with the duty doctor.

If your condition is non-urgent we aspire to offer a routine appointment with a doctor as soon as possible, although depending on which doctor you would like to see, there may be a wait of a few weeks. You also have the option to book up to eight weeks in advance with your own doctor (or female doctor for a specifically female issue), if this is more convenient.

Doctor appointments only (routine and pre-bookable) are available during extended hours for all patients of the practice. Appointment booking procedures will apply.

If you would like a chaperone present during your consultation please advise the Receptionist when booking your appointment.  A member of staff will act as a chaperone.

Telephone Consultations

You can also book to speak to your doctor who will call you back during normal practice hours.

Practice Nurses

In a number of cases it might be worth considering an appointment with a practice nurse rather than a doctor. Practice nurses are qualified to deal with many ailments and you may be seen more quickly.

Cancellations

If you cannot attend an appointment for any reason please inform us as soon as possible in order for us to give the slot to someone else. You can cancel an appointment in several ways as follows:

  • Online through our website, more than 24 hours before the appointment -http://www.marlboroughdoctors.org.uk/making-appointments
  • Online through our website using your unique username and password (see above for more details)
  • Drop in and cancel in person
  • Call the Practice on 01672 512187

Don’t feel bad about cancelling an appointment, we understand that things crop up and we are always happy to rearrange. If you cancel then these appointments are available for other patients.
